Roy Report 3/5/19

Labs are back from Friday and things are trending in the desired direction. Roy’s liver function indicators continue to improve so Dr. Asrani pushed the biopsy again and requested labs be repeated in another two weeks. Roy has his colonoscopy and endoscopy this morning. He has requested ginger ale for afterward. I did find vegan “jello” that was actually tasty for him yesterday – “Simply Delish” orange flavored.

For those of you following the numbers:

Total Protein 6.8

Albumin 3.0

Bilirubin Total 3.0

Alkaline Phosphatase 152

SGOT (AST) 45

SGPT (ALT) 32

He was first up this morning and should be back from his procedures in 30 minutes or so. Good news – no varices in his esophagus, random biopsies done as Dr. Asrani requested and one polyp removed – next colonoscopy in 2024. Dr. Richards said the liver numbers look much better.

We have an appointment in Dallas tomorrow.
