Roy unintentionally helped find some weird loop in the Baylor Scott & White computing system last week. Lab orders from Dallas would be in the system when he checked in but cancelled between the check-in and the actual lab. He had to go through the loop a few times before the local doctors put in matching orders so he could get his labs done and the clinic has put in a computer bug report.
He’s continuing to lose weight, too! He goes back to Dallas for a follow-up on April 17 and they will most likely next do labs there.
And here are the numbers which are all improving from the most recent labs on March 21:
- Total Bilirubin 2.1 (normal range 0.3-1.2)
- Sodium 138 (normal range 132-146)
- Potassium 4.7 (normal range 3.5-5.5)
- Alkaline Phosphatase 131 (normal range 46-116)
- SGOT (AST) 38 (normal range 0-33)
- SGPT (ALT) 30 (normal range 10-49)
- Total Protein 6.5 (normal range 5.7-8.2)
- Albumin 3.1 (normal range 3.4-5.0)
- Creatinine 0.73 (normal range 0.70-1.30)
He successfully completed a full week of half-days last week and will be following the same schedule again this week. The cats are confused. Today when I got him at noon, Margaret was standing in the front window to see where he thought he was going. I’m sure he will get a talking-to when he gets home today.
