Roy’s results from the Chest CT came through the MyChart and it appears to be about the same as before. He has some enlarged lymph nodes, but he’s also reacting to the pollen of allergy season at the moment. They did not see anything that indicated the cancer had spread but the radiologist also noted that it couldn’t be ruled out entirely from this test. There were no notes from the doctor so we’re going with things are as they should be for now. I think they would call if it was an issue.
He’s had more communications from the Interventional Radiology team and will have a call with the IR doctor on Tuesday. The doctor likes to talk to patients the week before the Y-90 phase 1 begins. Otherwise, Roy has some labs to do pre-procedure and a visit with his dentist.
We are grateful to Ricky and Dana, Don, Ben, and Dave for helping us get the guest room bed transported and assembled and the new mattress unpacked. We’re not quite ready yet for this bedroom to be Roy’s post-procedure lair, but we should be ready before he needs to be separate (new slatted box support, mattress and box spring allergy covers coming this week with pillows, sheets and Urban Cabin queen-sized quilt already on stand by). After March 27, Roy will be slightly radioactive, so we have to keep the cats (and me) away from him for a wee bit of time. We don’t think Charles, Henry or Audrey will understand not being able to climb or sit on him. If this does become his primary recovery space longer term, we will probably need to re-run the Dish cables to put a spare TV in that space but that’s not an immediate task. Meanwhile, the cats believe we have acquired a new lounging area just for them. It must be great to be one of our cats!
